![]() ![]() This game has enough content for what it is, if you're just looking for cuteness & fluff to pass the time. Would not recommend this game at full price, personally, but you may like it more than I. Lastly, TOEM itself was underwhelming and doesn't quite feel as emotionally satisfying as reaching the top of the mountain in A Short Hike. There is a lack of a cohesive theme / idea which strings the characters together. More recurring characters that develop throughout the game would have helped. Much of the dialogue is throwaway and none of it was especially funny or charming imo. The thing that brings the game down from being on the level of other 'cozy' games, A Short Hike and Donut County for instance, is the character writing. There are a quite a few QoL issues related to the menus and hikelady which I'm not too fussed to list here, but they were annoying. On the other hand, along with the world design, makes every area look the same. On one hand, it's very unique for a photography game and sticks out a lot. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’s release date will be May 12, 2023. I'm of two minds regarding the black and white art style. It never takes THAT long to find where you need by some trial and error, but I didn't find the world design was strong enough to justify the lack of a map, even a fairly simple one. The character designs were pretty strong and I like the Gumball-esque mix of art styles. It was a bit more complex than the gameplay in UG. I liked that you actually had to interact with the world / solve puzzles to obtain the photos, unlike Umarangi Generation. I found the small ways that the world changed when you entered camera mode to be quite novel. The vibe created by the soundtrack and audio design is fantastic. If anyone has played Umarangi Generations, it's a little like that but imo a more succinct, simple and well-rounded package. Pretty short game, can probably beat it in one or two sittings. I haven't 100% completed yet because some of the puzzles are a little too obscure for me (or maybe I'm just a dumb-dumb) but I've had a lot of fun with this. You can satisfy the minimum stamps and move on but each location has more than you need so you can stay and collect everything if you want.Įverything is so cute from the designs to the dialogue, along the lines of A Short Hike or Night in the Woods. ![]() There are about 5? locations where you help people (generally by taking pictures) until you have enough stamps to get to the next location. going on an adventure to see the titular Toem phenomenon. It's basically a hidden item photography game where you play as a little. I just wanted to bring a little more attention to it so it isn't completely forgotten. This is such a charming little game but it seems like it got swept under the rug, possibly because it was released close to Eastward which everyone is obsessed with right now. ![]()
